Who benefits from an Exam Access Assessment?
This service provides test results which can go towards evidence of a Specific Learning Difficulty (dyslexia) for deciding on the allocation of exam access arrangements for SATS, GCSE, A Level and Vocational examinations. This is in line with standardised JCQ Exam Access regulations.
Possible access arrangements for students with dyslexia may include:
- Extra time
- Readers
- Scribes
- Rest breaks
- Use of a separate room
Before doing anything else you should first seek advice from the school’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
If you are unsure what level of assessment you need, please call Indigo on 0845 347 9322 to discuss your options.
Please note that this test is primarily used for SATs, GCSEs and A-Levels. If you are an adult, you may need a specialist teacher assessment or educational psychologist assessment. If in doubt, contact your accrediting body.
