Advanced Dyslexia Screening

Early identification is the key to better educational outcomes.

What is an Advanced Dyslexia Screening?

An Advanced Dyslexia Screening Test is an assessment designed to identify the probability of Dyslexia within an individual. A specific learning difficulty that affects reading, spelling, and writing.

It is the first level of testing that you would undertake if you have any suspicions that Dyslexia may be affecting you or your child. A screening produces evidence of any learning difficulties, identifies strengths and weaknesses and helps parents and educators formulate appropriate support.

What’s Included

Your Dyslexia Screening includes a calm, one-to-one session with a specialist who takes time to understand how you or your child approaches literacy.  The activities are carefully chosen, age-appropriate, and designed to gently explore areas such as reading, spelling, phonological awareness, memory and processing speed. This helps us build a clear picture of strengths and weakness.

You will have the opportunity to talk through the results with the assessor, and you will receive the results of the screening via email by the end of the day.

Who It Helps

Anyone aged 7 and above who is struggling with literacy. During advanced screening tests we look at attainment to get an idea of where your skills are at and were they need to be. All this information is invaluable to parents, carers and educators as it helps with the development of appropriate support.

Your assessor will also keep an eye out for any other difficulties that could be responsible, such as ASD or ADHD. Even if no learning difficulty or neurodiversity is identified the process can be very enlightening and cathartic.

You pay the assessor at the end of the appointment by either cash or card. Online appointments will be sent a secure payment link via text message.

Yes, we recommend it. The more comfortable they are the better result we will achieve.

If you struggle with numeracy and have never been assessed before, then a Dyscalculia screening is the best place to start.
